October 2026

Image smart tools on the canvas now run on GPT Image 2.5 and Nano Banana 2.1 for more refined results that stay closer to the original, and most tools cost fewer credits. New Soften texture and Upscale image tools, and the Smart tools menu is grouped by purpose.

Image smart tools got a round of upgrades. They now run on GPT Image 2.5 and Nano Banana 2.1, so results are more refined and stay closer to the original. Most tools cost fewer credits. See Smart Tools for the full guide.

New

  • Soften texture: Images from GPT Image carry a lot of fine detail, which often shows up as specks, noise, and grain when enlarged. Soften texture washes out the excess detail for a softer, cleaner image while keeping the composition, characters, and text intact.
  • Upscale image: Enlarge an image to 4K, 6K, or 8K for print, posters, and large displays.
  • Smart tools menu: Smart tools in the node toolbar are grouped into Refine, Viewpoint, Storyboard, Frames & clips, and Quality & audio. Pick one to run it, with the credit cost shown first.

Upgraded

  • Three-view diagram: Turnarounds are cleaner, with front, side, and back views aligned and no stray props or text.
  • Multi-angle views: All nine frames show the same moment from different camera positions, so characters and scenes stay consistent.
  • Expand to 3×3 storyboard: The story flows more naturally with more varied shots. Output changed from 4K to 2K.
  • Change angle: The camera actually turns to the chosen angle, and high and low angles are more accurate.
  • Adjust lighting: Light direction, color, and rim light are more accurate, and the rest of the image stays unchanged.
  • Image editing: Edits follow your exact words, understand them better, and preserve the original more faithfully.

Retired

  • Storyboard 25-grid: For continuous storyboards, use Expand to 3×3 storyboard.
  • Expand image.

October 19–25 updates: a rough-cut editor, group shortcuts, and a credit breakdown for each project on the canvas. Touch support for iPad, vouchers moved into billing, and the Halloween event is live.

Canvas

  • Rough-Cut Editor: Cut multiple clips, audio, and subtitles into a finished video on the canvas. Supports multi-select trimming, draggable subtitle previews, and one-click subtitle generation on the audio track. Rough-cut content can be referenced directly in Zumi.
  • Group Shortcuts: Press ⌘ G or Ctrl G to group, and ⌘ Delete or Ctrl Delete to ungroup. Ungrouping never deletes content and can be undone in one step.
  • Project Credit Breakdown: A new credit entry in the project header shows usage by model, including Zumi conversations and 3D generation tasks.
  • Details: The parameter summary below the input box shows the generation count, colorless labels use a slash style, and the keyboard guide detects your operating system.

iPad Touch

  • Gestures: Dragging with a finger only pans the canvas. Long-press a node to open its menu, or long-press empty space and drag to box-select.
  • Keyboard Avoidance: When the on-screen keyboard appears, the input panel sticks to its top edge.

Zumi

  • Opens by Default: The Zumi panel expands when you enter the canvas.
  • Default Model: The default model updates when you switch conversations, and a model you chose manually is kept. Free users with low credits default to DeepSeek.
  • Asset Tags: Asset tags in conversations show a thumbnail on hover.
  • Fixes: Fixed cost confirmation cards that kept loading because of leftover asset references.

Account and Events

  • Voucher Wallet: Vouchers moved into account billing, grouped as usable and ended. Discount and benefit vouchers share one view.
  • Halloween Event: Event banner and dialog are live, and plan cards show the event discount price.
  • Feedback: New feedback entries across the product.

Improvements

  • Smoother Canvas: Zooming and selecting feel smoother, and images load at their displayed size.
  • Video Playback: An end screen appears when a video finishes, and your sound preference is remembered.
  • Fixes: Fixed the top toolbar misaligning on narrow screens, and the share dialog crashing after translation or autoplaying previews incorrectly.

NewZumiCanvasCreditsImprovements

October 12–18 updates: queue and interject messages in Zumi, finalize draft videos, edit public workflows together, and a new monthly Basic plan with a redesigned credit store.

  • Attachments and History: Unified limits for attachment count and image size. History loads in pages and keeps your scroll position.

  • Quick Search and Canvas Reuse: Use ⌘ K or Ctrl K to open generation search with a keyword. The canvas generation panel also supports search, filters, and importing multiple selections.

Zumi

  • Free Model Switching: If the current model needs more credits, Zumi switches to an available free model and notifies you. If none is available, it shows how to add credits.
  • Batch Generation and Session Recovery: Fixed missing confirmation cards for batches larger than five items. Also fixed session recovery and continuation after confirmations across conversation turns.
